- apply for sponsorship for an event or initiative.
You must submit your application online.
What you should know
The Queensland Government provides sponsorship towards significant events and initiatives that have positive and tangible benefits to communities across the state.
Sponsorship is given on a one-off basis and should not be considered an ongoing source of funding for your event.
Consider the following information before you apply:
- Applications are only accepted online.
- You should apply at least 8 months before the event.
- You are not guaranteed to get sponsorship funding, or receive the full amount requested.

How to apply for sponsorship
Make sure you can provide copies of:
- business plan or sponsorship proposal
- budget documents, covering risks and financial considerations
- marketing and communications plans.
Digital files can be up to 25MB each, but a maximum of 5MB is recommended to reduce upload time.
To complete the online form, be ready to answer questions about:
- your organisation and its capability to successfully deliver the event
- the event or initiative details, including consideration to:
- gender and cultural diversity
- the use of Queensland suppliers, talent and produce
- environmentally sustainable practices
- how your event aligns with the Queensland Government’s Objectives for the Community
- the amount you're requesting
- other approached and confirmed sponsors
- benefits and opportunities for government.
Complete the online form. Read the instructions carefully before you begin.
When you submit the form, you will receive a confirmation email with a copy of your submitted application attached.
We will distribute funding in line with our Queensland Government Sponsorship Policy. Before you can receive payment, you'll need to meet the agreed milestones outlined in your sponsorship agreement.
If you fail to meet the agreed milestones by the specified date or level, the Queensland Government may cancel or change your sponsorship funding.
How long it takes
It can take up to four months to receive an outcome to your application.
This timeframe allows for thorough consultation and assessment with the relevant Queensland Government departments.
How much it costs
There is no application fee.
