Boating in crocodile habitat areas

Be vigilant while boating in crocodile habitat areas to reduce your risk of a crocodile attack.

  1. Always keeping your arms and legs inside the boat.

Never hang any part of your body out of the boat or over the edge of the boat.

  2. Use your boat as a barrier.

Keep your boat or trailer between yourself and the water while launching or loading and face the water whenever possible.

  3. Avoid using kayaks, paddleboards and other small craft in crocodile habitat areas.

The smaller the vessel, the greater the risk—crocodiles have taken people from small vessels.
