Note: We can't accept fee payments over the phone or by email as debit and credit card payments aren't secure using these methods. If we get an email containing these details, we'll have to immediately delete it and your application and payment won't be processed.

Apply for a new licence
Apply online (individuals only) for an auction industry licence—select Fair Trading Individual New Application.
This is a requirement of the Property Occupations Act 2014 and the Motor Dealers and Chattel Auctioneers Act 2014 .
Note: You can't apply online for a corporate licence. You can only apply in person or by post.

Appoint an auctioneer
Appoint a chattel auctioneer You can't apply online.
Fill out the Appointment of a motor dealer or chattel auctioneer form (Form 9) to appoint (or re-appoint) a chattel auctioneer.
A completed and signed copy of this form must be given to the client before the chattel auctioneer sells the client's goods.
This is a requirement of the Motor Dealers and Chattel Auctioneers Act 2014 .

Appoint a residential or commercial auctioneer You can't apply online.
To appoint (or re-appoint) an auctioneer (real property), fill out 1 of these forms:
A completed form must be given to the client before you perform any auctioneering services for them.
This is a requirement of the Property Occupations Act 2014 .

Change a licence
There are no forms to fill out.
Write to us at an OFT contact centre or by email to ilu@justice.qld.gov.au to request we:
change or remove your licence conditions deactivate or reactivate your licence. Please include as much detail as possible, including your licence number.

Note: when reactivating a licence you may need to pay a pro-rata renewal fee and a criminal history check fee, depending on whether you've previously renewed an inactive licence. We'll let you know the fee you need to pay once we receive your application.

Make a disclosure—chattel
Make a disclosure—real property
Disclosure of beneficial interest to seller Real property auctioneers with a beneficial interest in the sale must give the seller a completed Disclosure of beneficial interest form (Form 7).
This is a requirement of the Property Occupations Act 2014 .

Disclosure of interest to potential buyer Real property auctioneers must show a potential buyer the Disclosure to potential buyer form (Form 8) to disclose their interests, including:
a relationship with any third party you've referred the buyer to any commission you get from or pay to that third party your interests in the property (if you're a property developer). Penalties apply if you fail to disclose your interest.
This is a requirement of the Property Occupations Act 2014 .

Renew or restore a licence
Replace a licence or request an extract
Apply online to replace a licence or request an extract (copy).
Fees apply
An extract will show:
the name of each person who holds the licence the registered business name (if any) and place of business the status of the licence—current, expired, refused, cancelled or suspended their licence number and class. Other ways to apply You can also contact us by post or email as soon as you notice your licence is lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed.
