Fair Trading online services
Use the Liquor, Gaming and Fair Trading (LGFT) online portal to access the Office of Fair Trading's (OFT) online services.
Find the following online services on the portal:
- some new individual occupational licence applications
- some individual occupational licence renewal applications
- consumer complaint form
- trust account audit report lodgement
- application for associations and non-profits
- change of particulars for associations and non-profits
- annual return for associations and non-profits
- notification of charity ACNC registration
- OFT request form
- make a payment
- respond to an infringement notice.
Technical information
Download the latest version of common browsers to use the online portal. Make sure pop-ups are enabled before you start.
The online portal is also accessible on your mobile phone or tablet.
If you're having problems, try a different device or browser.
Access pre-filled forms
The more information you share with us, the better your experience using the online portal will be.
To access pre-filled forms, either select 'Log in' or select the form you want to use from the tiles on the homepage.
For renewals, enter the licence, certificate or organisation number you were issued by OFT.
Then select 'Continue'.
Verifying your identity
If you're a new applicant, you'll be asked to verify your identity using a Queensland digital identity (QDI) or an Australian Government myID.
QDI has replaced QGov as the preferred identity provider. QGov accounts are no longer supported and most existing QGov account users were transferred to the QDI system. If you previously used a QGov account to verify your identity, you may need to verify it again. Read more about the QGov to QDI transfer.

Linking your identity with our records
Next you'll be asked to answer some questions to link your QDI or myID with our records. Follow the instructions as you complete the online form.
Once this is done:
- your forms will be pre-filled with your details
- you won't need to submit any further identity documents unless something changes
- you'll receive online status updates for licence renewal applications.
Completing online forms without a QDI
You don't have to set up a QDI to submit a form online—you can submit a 'public form' instead. You'll still be able to complete some forms online, but your details won't be pre-filled.
To do it this way, select the form you want from the tiles in the online portal. Then select the 'Public form' button.
Identity for new applicants without a QDI
New applicants who haven't set up a QDI will need to provide certified ID documents by post or in person at an OFT counter to submit a form.
All documents must be certified by a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Declarations, barrister or solicitor, or Notary Public.
The type of ID will vary depending on your application. Most new licence applicants must provide 1 form of certified ID in their current name, worth 50 points.
Security providers and tattoo licence applicants must provide 100 points of ID from the following lists (you must include at least 1 primary document).
- passport
- birth certificate/extract
- immiCard
- Australian driver licence
- photo ID card / adult proof of age card
- Australian citizenship certificate
- public service employee ID card
- healthcare card
- tertiary education student ID card
- mortgage documents
- letter from employer—must be within past 2 years
- rating authority notice, e.g. land rates or council rates
- electricity, gas or phone bill*
- ATM card, credit card, bank statement*
- marriage certificate
- Medicare card
*You can't provide more than 1 document from the same financial institution or utility.
Supporting documents
You can upload supporting documents as you complete online forms.
The maximum upload size for all supporting documents combined is 19MB and file types are limited to PDF, JPG, GIF, PNG or BMP formats.
You must upload training certificates with your application, unless you've held:
- an equivalent real estate or motor sales registration certificate in Queensland in the last 2 years
- a security provider licence in the past 12 months and you're reapplying for the same class of licence (you can get the licence without further training if your training hasn't expired).
View the training requirements for your specific licence or registration:
- real estate salesperson
- motor salesperson
- unarmed security officer
- crowd controller
- private investigator
- bodyguard
- cash transit officer
- dog patrol security officer
- tattoo operator
- tattooist.
If your licence or registration isn't listed, there aren't any training requirements for it.
Security and tattoo licence and subagent certification applicants must upload a passport quality photo with their application. The photo must be passport quality. It doesn't need to be certified.
Security and tattoo licence applicants must upload certified identity documents for all associates and relevant people. If an associate isn't licensed, you must supply their full details.
Tattoo licence applicants who aren't Australian or New Zealand citizens must upload a copy of their international passport. We require it to prove your eligibility to work (not your identity), so it can be an uncertified copy.
Offline process
You can complete a paper application form and submit it with your ID and supporting documents by:

To complete your application you must have:
- paid the required fees
- provided certified copies of original ID
- lodged any supporting documents.
Rejected or delayed applications
Your application may be rejected or delayed if:
- you don't pay the required fee
- your criminal history check shows you're not suitable to hold the licence, e.g. you've been convicted of a serious offence, disqualifying offence or are subject to a control order
- you don't provide the right supporting documents
- you're under 18 (except for an apprentice security equipment installer)
- you're applying for a tattoo licence and you have a prohibition order in place, or you're not an Australian citizen and don't hold a visa allowing you to work in Australia.
